FreeSplit is a free Windows program that will allow you to split large files into smaller pieces or join a number of small files into one larger file. This can be very useful if you have large files that you need to put on removable media such as a recordable CD, a recordable DVD, a USB flash drive, or a floppy disk. With the join feature you can join multiple server log files into one large file, or use the pieces from a split file to recreate it.
As always, FreeSplit is completely free of charge. This program contains no spyware and is a standalone program with no dll dependencies. You don't even have to run an installer program to use FreeSplit, which means it can be run directly from a CD-ROM, Floppy, or other removable media.
Features:
- Large files can be split without a problem. FreeSplit allows you to split files that are hundreds of gigabytes or more in size.
- You can select a pre-defined size for the pieces that are created, or enter your own custom value. The program will show you how many pieces will be created based on the size you enter.
- Re-join the files that you have split with FreeSplit, or you can join together any two or more files that you want.
FreeSplit is also great for sending large files through e-mail. Many e-mail servers place a limit on the size of attachments you can include in your e-mail messages. With FreeSplit you can divide up a large file into smaller pieces and send each piece as a separate e-mail attachment.
